San Francisco Vacation
San Francisco, California is located on the west coast of the U.S. at the tip of
the San Francisco Peninsula. It's a wonderful place to visit. Well-known for its
chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, an exciting mix of Victorian and modern
architecture, and its peninsula location that's surrounded on three sides by the
Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Must-see hallmarks and landmarks include
the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island Prison, the cable cars, the Transamerica
Pyramid, Coit Tower, Fisherman's Warf, and Chinatown, just to name a
few.
The historic center of San Francisco is northeast of the city
bordered by Market Street to the south. It is here that you'll see the Financial
District, with Union Square, the principal shopping and hotel district, nearby.
Cable cars carry residents and tourists alike up steep inclines to the summit of
Nob Hill, once the home of the city's business tycoons, and then down to
Fisherman's Wharf, a tourist playground featuring Dungeness crab from a
still-active fishing industry. Also in this quadrant is Russian Hill, a
residential neighborhood with the famously crooked Lombard Street, North Beach,
the city's version of Little Italy, and Telegraph Hill, which features Coit
Tower. Another interesting place to visit is San Francisco's Chinatown,
established in the 1860s.
While it can be convenient to drive around San
Francisco to see the sights, if you want to get out the car parking is not
always plentiful. There's the infamous no left turns, tiny alleyways, one way
streets and other navigational nightmares of San Francisco. No need stress out
about finding your way around, simply book a GPS car. They're small enough to
park on the sidewalk while you run into a cafe or want to snap the perfect
picture. The clever talking car navigates for you. It points out the sights and
tells you the stories that bring San Francisco to life and with no roof, you get
a 360 of the sights and sounds of San Francisco. GPS is the only tour of its
kind in the nation.
From boutiques, megastores and outlets carrying top
international designers, to seekers of unique art, crafts, souvenirs and
California bounty products, San Francisco shopping offers something for
everyone. San Francisco is also always at the top of the list as a world-class
dining destination and offers an incomparable selection of flavorful ethnic
cuisines. California cuisine, takes advantage of fresh local ingredients
combined with international flavors, complimented, of course, by their
world-class California wines.
